Team Donkey Weekly Update

This is a weekly update log of what Team Donkey has done for the week of 11/18/12.

What was Planned

For the week of 11/18/12, we knew that we could not get as much work done since it was Thanksgiving Holiday. Hence, we planned for this week to be a big bug bash to get as many bugs and playtest issues knocked out going into the final playtest build. John would also add in any of the missing particle effects in the levels so the game would look polished.

What was Accomplished

Anshul worked out several UI issues, finalizing the sizing of the UI elements to fit with our desired resolution. David worked on polish FX, making sure invincibility looked pleasing, as well as filling in missing sounds and adding in other missing art assets. The shopping cart object was finalized, as well as specific crates (vegetable, meat, and fruit) and the super banana powerup. David added xbox 360 controller support to some other parts of the game that didn’t have it implemented yet. John worked with David on these by making sure appropriate polish effects were added. John also logged several bugs that were addressed, and modified some key aspects of our physics models to make sure they were robust enough for normal game play.

Moving Forward

As the game is now in the final playtest build, no new features will be added. Only the existing features will be improved/updated. This would mostly be level-balancing that will result from play-testing and tweaking the rules of the game. We are confident that with this bit of playtesting, our game will feel great.

Additionally, we will be preparing for our final presentation by creating the presentation itself and a short documentary video about our game. We look forward to sharing our final product with everyone!
