Archon weekly logs 11/5 – 11/12

This week was spent changing and updating our plans based on the feedback received for the Alpha version of Archon.

Jaron has updated the GUI functionality to fix player and enemy status display, while John and Alex have updated and tweaked the architecture.

Our thoughts for updates to the Alpha are as follows:

Fixes:
-moving from turret directly into other mechs. Should reset curMinion when
this happens.
-3rd person control of the turret
– fix laser speed/visibility
– place sounds in their own prefab for lasers
– fix framerate issues
– properly link GUI into the game
– 1st person mode: better camera control, GUI representation of 1st vs. 3rd
person
– fix mech drift when not occupied(not as necessary with AI)
– fix camera through terrain

Suggestions:
– reduce control sensitivity
– more direct control over mechs. Not controlled via accelerations. More
drag/friction
– Change control scheme for user input. Controller?
– Interpolate archon to other mechs instead of instant? Edit/remove the
archon trail.
– terrain is too dark: add lights? Different terrain texture? Flatter
terrain for visibility?
