Assignment 1 : ShapeShifter

What I wanted to do :

I wanted to create an experience where the image target would act as the Canvas.

1) When only the image is tracked it would draw we would only be able to 3D Objects on the scree.

2) Introducing the reaction marker would prompt a change in shape of the rendered object and then it would change to the type prompter by the reaction target. The first time the marker is encountered the shape is changed to cube. Then it changes to a sphere and finally to a torus. And they loop in the order.

3) The stationary markers was intended to change colors based on the distance of the target.

4) It was meant to be a version of rock paper scissors where the sphere is the rock , cube is the paper and torus is the scissor.

5) The games was to be played by two people at the same time using their markers on the same image target.

 

What I was able to do :

1) I was able to track the markers and overlay 3D objects on them.  The image acts as the canvas as mentioned and 3D objects can be seen on the image.

2) When a reaction marker is introduced a cube appears on the target image. Then removing the markers from the vision and again bringing them into it makes the markers to change to sphere and then to torus respectively.

3) The continuous marker gauges the distance of the image target and positions the image target along the z axis by the same position. Hence on moving the marker we can see the object move.

Instructions for Use :

1) Print out the image target and the two frame markers.

2) Go to the URL   www.kyleshideout.net76.net/VE/shapeshifter.html using the Argon Web Browser.

3)  Track the image using the camera in the device.

4) Framemarker 25 is the reaction/ trigger Marker.

6) Frammarker 24 is the continuous/ stationary marker. (  This tells us the position of the object along the z axis)
