You’ve done a stellar job of creating a prototype that’s not just intuitive, but more importantly, fun to play. The game has a certain style to it that’s complimented by your polish effects, and with just a little more emphasis on competitive scoring could turn into a really addictive game. I like the multiple views for better control, and the various sound effects. Overall great work on this project.

It reminds me of when I used to play Mowin Maniac in After Dark Games: http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/26619-after-dark-games-windows-screenshot-mowin-maniacs.gif

Your game is quite different however because in Mowin Maniac it was pretty much pacman but lawn mowing style. I really like the sound effects and interactions you’ve created here. Everything works really well. Some things you might like, for the power ups, Mowin Maniac used to just do a speed boost, but that may make it to hard to control the lawn mower in your game. It could be cool to have enemies to avoid. Like you don’t just lose points when colliding with them. You lose the game and have to start over completely.

Overall, I think this game is awesome, hope to see more!

It’s a cool concept with a lot of potential, and I like that it’s called Moe’s Prototype (like Moe’s world in the previous project) implying there is an immersive world around the lawnmower, which also makes the game more fun. The ideas you suggest, mainly the powerups and the multiple types of grass, are spot on, albeit music and the ability to go backwards (to avoid a slow 180 degree turn) would be nice too. I like this game. It’s an original idea, and there is a lot of creativity one can do with it. Great job!

I did like the things you implemented, like the particle effects and the sound effects. Coupled with the overhead camera angle I really felt like I was controlling a lawn mower, which in turn kicked in my instincts to want to mow the lawn correctly.

I think adding a few more polish effects like the camera zoom correlating to movement speed you mentioned would really help enhance the feel and give it a whole new level of realism. Adding a few more particles couldn’t hurt either, as in my experience with mowing lawns, stuff flies everywhere.

Overall good concept and good execution. With a little more fleshing out this could be a really awesome game.

It’s colorful and bright, and the music is pretty hyper so it makes the player feel like they have to do something. Changing the camera like that gives it a different perspective, and it allows the player to pick an angle that they like more to continue playing. I like the different effects the materials in the world have on the player; the poop’s effects slow it down and dock off points, and the rocks make it spin around, which I thought was really cool.
There does seem to be a problem when the player hits too many things, the avatar is no longer on the ground and cannot run over anything. Also, having a high score system and timer would allow players to improve their grass-cutting abilities. This is a great game and great job on it!
