I feel like the game is lacking some type of theme that could draw the feel together. For example, it the boxes can burn then the texture of them could be wood. I see that the texture of the wall is brick so that could indicate it can not burn. I would prefer the image of the bricks to not be stretched out, however, so it is clear what they are. Maybe the mouse could have an icon of a match too since the mouse controls the burning of the cubes. If you were to add these elements, the background music you have now may be too cutesy.
Moving the text to the edges of the screen would also help make the player feel like they are in the screen of the game.
]]>I like the creative change in scene and being able to shrink and use shields – different things to indicate performance and to help the avatar move along. It was a little difficult to get use to the controls before proceeding – maybe if there was a gradual increase in obstacles and bullets as the avatar moved through the scene. It was a little difficult to get into the game since the avatar kept getting shot from the very start, and the end goal and location is a little unclear. Maybe if it were sunny, or had a bunch of trees, it would make it more obvious where the avatar is going and why.

what are some specific things that could be improved, and how might they be accomplished?
do the two motions feel like they meet the assigned “feel”?
do the interaction aspects help create game feel (controls, avatar movement and how it interacts with the world, polish effects used directly to emphasize these interactions)
are the other parts of the prototype (textures, sounds, etc) helping or hurting?
