The music is fun and the colors are very bright, evocative of springtime and Easter. I think my favorite thing about your implementation of this game is the way the avatar’s body is continuously rotating forward, as if it’s ready to start running at any moment. It’s a super simple thing that gives the avatar an energetic feel. One suggestion I would have is to reduce the angular momentum when rotating your avatar. It could be frustrating to the player if the avatar keeps rotating after no longer pressing “Left” or “Right”, since the forward direction he or she is moving in depends on rotation.

The game feels very cheerful and happy, and the music choice is excellent for what you were going for. Further, the environment design and texture work is bright and colorful and lends toward the atmosphere you were looking for. The controls are also tight and nimble. Overall I think you captured your desired game feel very well. The only thing I would suggest is to possibly animate the character differently when moving, or add some polish to the character’s interactions. (Maybe some happy sparkles when the character picks up a cube, etc). Besides those small things, the game captures the feel you described as happy and nimble and has a goal that is fun to try and achieve. Great work!

Overall very fun to play. The jumping was a bit off but with a bit of tweaking it would be perfect. I also really like the constant motion of the player. It might be a fun idea to play with having the player constantly being pushed forward to give it a more loose feel.

Both of these things instantly convey the feel of a happy and almost childish (in a good way) game. The next thing is the character body rotations that doesn’t precisely feel happy but it makes the character seem happy and energetic. The contrast between the colorful background and the bland character color makes it easier for the player to distinguish themselves different from the environment which gives this feeling that the character is exploring something new. Whether you decide to add more colors or textures to the character I suggest keeping this contrast.

I like the constantly rotating player character as it creates an illusion of continuous movement. To allow for more dynamic interactions in the player, perhaps collecting certain gift objects can change the player’s size, speed, superpowers (?) However, it’s a bit hard to judge distance, so it’s pretty easy to die… that’s not very happy. Overall, the game is user-intuitive such that it’s easy to learn and play. The player’s quick ability to move, rotate, and jump definitely conveys the “nimble” feel. Simple prototype idea, but you did a good job of creating the happy, nimble feel!
