The way you’ve designed the movement really hit the nail on the head for feeling like a snake in my opinion. The sound of movement and the occasional “hiss” type sound really bring it all together in that regard. The classic snake style mechanic of eating objects and growing works nicely and the way you hold a larger object in the position till the tail comes really reinforces this. Finally, the procedural generation brings the whole thing together as a runner and I think has been done really well. Sometimes with the procedural games you get the feeling that it is too random, and gives some unfairly place obstacles, but I never really felt that way here. Some of my suggestions would be things you already touched on, like the barriers, score, AI etc. It would be nice if the snake had an animation when eating the rabbits, like a slight lunge/bite animation. It would also be nice to have the ground extended or altered sky box so it didn’t look like the world was floating in the air as much. Their could definitely be more obstacles, or possibly the “track” might turn etc, but now I’m just nitpicking. Overall, this really gave me the feeling of a snake and the movement style/input really felt natural. Even though i knew it would never end, I still wanted to keep playing to try and win. Nice job

The simulation of both the snake and bunnies are awesome, very smoothly and easy control. The attack is also realistic. I love the effect that some part of the body of the snake would become a little bit bigger after eating the bunny, which make the player feel it like a real snake. One thing you might want to improve is to make the terrain more complex, for example, adding trees, mountain and even some holes to let the snake get in, which would make the scene look more real. Or you could add some AI to make the bunnies able to avoid the snake, like getting into a hole when the snake approaching. Overall, this is a really good game! I enjoy it very well.

I love how there is a clear theme – everything added together makes the user feel like they are in this desert snake world. The movement of the snake is pretty on par. I like that the snake doesn’t automatically move forward, as I expected. Instead, you have to undulate back and forth much like a real snake. Even the bunnies hopping around had the movement of what you would think bunnies would move like in real life. The game is quite easy to control and no instructions are needed.

I think adding some type of upbeat music that has a matching beat for the snake to would add to adventurous feel of the game. Also adding some polish, such as particle effects when the rabbit is eaten would emphasis an event as occurred. I didn’t like that the holes in the ground to be avoided look like just images. It would be cool if they were actual deep depressions on the ground plane. Making the snake’s head more tapered shape would also be an easy add to make the user feel more like a real snake. The subtle effect of the sand moving around the snakes body is great. I think you could emphasize it though, since I didn’t notice it for a while. Since the environment is in the desert, it would be cool if you could somehow add an element of the scene feeling hot.

I was wondering how you achieved the movement pattern, and I thought your explanation in the description was very creative. The only problem I have with the movement is that it is very sensitive – but it may just require some practice to get use to. I thought it definitely showed the utility of having this movement by having multiple different obstacles, landscapes, and prey. Overall, very solid. It just needs a little more polish, such as the borders you mentioned, and maybe playtesting to see if the controls are too sensitive or just right.

The game control is so remarkable that you can feel you are taking the snake’s thinking as you try to learn the way snakes are moving. Easy to learn but hard to master, I think it is a good example of this kind. The hissing and the dust created along the movement are also impressive as they fit into the game feel seamlessly. Another really well-polished part is the acceleration of the snake when you press space. The camera motion and the lines beside snake simply give you a realistic feeling that you are sprinting forward really fast and then slow down in a gentle landing. The camera motion is so smooth and nature that I think it is the same feeling people would create in a movie. Maybe there is one thing I can think of to make it more “snakish” is to allow the snake enter into the holes instead of ending the game. I think it can be some sort of fun when players hit a hole, everything turns black, they can see nothing; and after a while, they come up with “Ah, I am here”. This is a game I would definitely share with my friend.

The movement really feels like that of a snake. The design and movement of the bunny also plays it’s part right. The sound effects complement the feel of the game, especially after the bunny’s kill. The swallowing effect is realistic and commendable. The game doesn’t really need a background track, but a soft symphony kinda sound seems to match the feel in my head. The attack is great and again, feels like a snake. May be, you can increase the terrain to an endless desert since my turns really go out of the sand platform. I appreciate that there is no penalty for that. I am realizing the occasional hissing as the snake waits while I write this comment. Neither too complicated, nor too easy. I like it better than an endless runner game. The best part is the need for minimal input controls. I can imagine it as a game on a touch enabled mobile device, tilt left or right would work as the movement of the snake and swipe up for attack. Great game, I could play it all day long.
