It took me a while to realize what was going on, but once I did the game was quite fun. I really like the look and feel of the explosions. Everything kind of pushes away when that happens, making it feel powerful. The satellite interaction is also very fun and running into them has a satisfying feel to it. The sound when crashing into them is also very good, and fits with the explosions. The whole concept of being pulled into the center has a very good feel for the movement of rolling around the earth.
I think that adding some sort of timer or notification when the 2.5 second recharge time is done would help. At the moment, I have to estimate whether or not the 2.5 seconds is up and I can make an explosion. Also, the camera flips quite often as the Earth is very small in relation to the moon. I think for a more varied amount of movement, the Earth could be bigger.

In other words, mindless fun! Reading your description helped straighten things out a bit, and you should totally add a brief “Instructions” screen in your final game, just for that added context.

I really like the uniqueness of the game – it really is creative and “different”. You have certainly accomplished your mission of making the player feel super-powerful and indestructible. I also liked the fact that as you blow up the satellites, the blast force will push the nearby satellites away, too. Really cool feel! And the sounds do reinforce it and make it feel more polished.

The only real suggestion that I could give is maybe to make it so that it is not as easy (or game breaking) to escape the planet’s pull entirely. There were several times that I jumped too high and hit things on the way, which sent me away from the planet, never to return, and without any “reset” functionality.

But other than that, it was really cool, and I am actually looking forward to seeing what your finished game will be like.

I like how it is based on gravity, but I wish I had a large ability to move into space. The jump isnt very strong. It would be awesome if i could “fly” with poor steering ability, and so I would have to use the gravity of multiple planets to keep going from one orbit to another – if you do something like this, remember centripetal force 😛
One thing I dislike is the camera swivel around the north pole. Its very wierd because the controls also switch – so you can end up going back and forth, back and forth, over and over just holding the forward key. I recommend you make your own camera script.
That said, when you zoom out and see the satellites swarming like bees around Earth… very nice visual!

There’s a lot to like about this game. Your textures are the first things that impressed me, as they are all very detailed. The explosions are especially nice. The sounds are also well done and make me feel like I’m destructive and the kirby jump keeps it light-hearted.

The physics are at the core of this game feel and I think you nailed it. My moon feels like a slow juggernaut and acts as a lunar wrecking ball should (I imagine). The explosive force of the collisions knocks my beast back appropriately while sending satellites flying. I also love that I can gain air simply by “falling” of the horizon repeatedly. I wish the reload for the explosion wasn’t so long, or that I could maybe hit satellites a bit more weakly during reload.

Game feel is great and the explosions are far from “needless”.
