Textures looked great and gave off the right vibes for the moods you were trying to create. Your sound effects were very fitting as well. I think some sort of interaction with the fire would be great for the game; because they stand out from the scene, I felt drawn toward them. Honestly, they look like portals (Half-Life lambda core level comes to mind). Also, I think most people tweaked movement speed to create different feels, but I think this might have been a mistake (I did the same thing). Because I was able to explore more quickly as the joyful character, I spent more time in that mode. All in all, I liked the game!

Especially the shrill “weeeee” of the first jump! Also, cool environments with well chosen lights and colors.
As for the weak/scared mood, I think that without the sound it doesn’t seem as scary. I like the decay on the platforms, but in general, I disagree that weak is necessarily slow moving. Maybe he could have futile sound effects when he tries to double jump, or have a recharge animation/noise every so often, or the slow movement speed could be dependant on proximity to something like the fire(which could give him energy) not really sure…

The sound effects of the character are spot on for conveying the feels you are going for. Having interactions with some of the environment would be nice and add to the feel of the game. The fire was a nice touch to get the player to be afraid. Good Job!

I especially like the music choice for the joyful scene! It was also good how the scared character felt slower and more uncertain of its actions in terms of its movement and jumping (accelerates very slowly when moving forward). I think there could have been more interaction with the environment though, such as having the character interact with fire or the palm trees in some way to further emphasize the feeling. Nice job with sound effects though!
