There are some small tweaks you could do to add a little more feeling to the game like in the joyful scene have the character jump really fast and nimble like, and then in the strong scene have the character jump high into the air but then accelerate quickly towards the ground. Another small thing could have been changing the colors of the walls to brighter colors for the joyful scene and then darker tones for the strong scene. Always try to look for those small details that are easy to implement that add a lot of texture to the game.

The halo one in particular sets up an adventurous and tense mood, somber tone, good choice!
I was disappointed that the character’s movement is the same in both moods. Other than the tweaking the responses of the character,
even little things like different animations probably could have changed the personality of the character. For example, if the hat(?) spun faster in the joyful mood even that might make the character seem a bit happier.

Also the music choice is excellent for the two feels (though be careful about copyright ). I can clearly see the atmospheric difference between the 2 feels, however I had trouble seeing the difference in the character movement and the characters interaction with the world. I couldn’t quite tell if the character moved differently between the 2 states, but it seems that they do not. I think it is important to add interactions with the world, polish, and varied character control to further emphasize the 2 feels you set out to capture (such as quicker movement or higher jumps for “joyful” perhaps). Other than that good work on the project!

I liked the different sound effects too, but other than that there didn’t seem to be much to differentiate the two feelings in terms of interaction with the environment. Regardless of the mode, hitting the box does the same thing (making the box reappear at a different place). Maybe the character’s movement could be different as well. Good job on the details like the score count and highscore though!

The other feel also makes you feel as though everything is silly and joyful. The background on the joyful feel also enhances the silliness/playfulness of the game. It would have been good to have added different movement types to solidify the different feels. Good Job!
