It’s appropriately dark, the camera is close and intimate, and the really cool audio design sell it well. The audio design in particular is really awesome with all the pitch bending and stuff.

The game is very playable. I didn’t find myself fighting with the controls or anything. The jump was a nice height and had a nice weight to it. It would have been nice to have some air control though, I typically like to see games that have air control. It can interrupt a lot of the game feel to take away the player’s correction cycles.

I wish there were more in this game that took advantage of the fact that the avatar is a monkey. I feel that this could easily have worked as a scared person or yeti or shark or whatever.

But climbing those stairs was still pretty tense.

Nice portrayal of the mood. Nice use of texture and motion to convey that.

Sound totally supporting the environment, and environment the overall plot of fear.

I was curious to know what was at the top, where the music is coming from, and when I reached, well then comes the chilling truth that I am trapped…

Also liked the wailing of monkey when he goes near those stairs.

I won’t say I enjoyed it, I rather say it gave me a chill 😛

The addition of the dark atmosphere, panicked screeches, and ominous music make for a creepy experience.

Choosing to use the pyramid and raised pantheon was interesting. I’m not quite sure what they were there for, but at the same time it really added to the ominous nature of the level. Overall, good job!

As I climbed the stairs, I could feel suspense wondering what I was going to arrive at. I was a little scared myself! I liked how the music got louder as you got closer to the top. Once I stood on the platform at the top, I appeared back down by the pyramid. I’m not sure what this meant.

Overall, good “game feel” where the mechanics and polish reinforced the idea of a scared monkey. It was definite a fun little game!
