Both modes had good, responsive feel, though I found the rocket mode didn’t really coincide with the assignment requirements. Moreover, the nimble jump motion was unexpected and somewhat difficult to describe–though nimble is not the word that comes to mind.

The particle effect was a nice touch as well. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about limiting the elf’s jumps by time though. The lack of acceleration in the movement made it a little hard to judge the jumps. It really felt more like limited flight than actual jumping.

I love it!! I wish I can make like this. I like that avatar can move like real rocket and smoothly move while it is in the air. Also other avatar move so fast and change colors, frames, and jump motion. I really surprised about you put the pretty animation(fire) when rocket goes up. A lot of things I really want to put in my game. One recommendation for you is that I wish this game will have sounds makes more real game.

The rocket implements well, and I enjoyed using it, but the elf feels jarring.

Instead of simply making one character jump higher and move faster, you created a completely different control scheme while still fitting the description. Good work! I also really liked the background detail of the game and the various extra functionality you added to the game. The playability is fantastic. Aside all those positives, lack of sound was a major negative for me. I’d definitely recommend adding sound.

The rocket was fun to fly around and the particles added polish! I wish the rocket could have flown in all 360 degrees but overall it was still an awesome mechanic. The smaller, blue guy, definitely showed that he was light and nimble. The combination of the quick movement and high jump created this feel. It would have been nice if the movement of the jump were not linear and rather something a little smoother. Overall, the two different mechanics were great.

The main criticism I have is there isn’t any sound. Some sound effects for the rocket taking off or sound effects for the small guy jumping would have added the extra polish for more game feel.

In the end, it was fun to play with. Some extra polish, through sounds, and smoother movement would push this game towards better game feel.

I liked the idea of rocket “jump” mechanic! I just felt the lack of control is too long depending on how hight the rocket is. The collision looks ok, but the space elf’s jump could be improved. Also, when the player stops the “jump” while using the rocket some inertia should be interesting. There something wierd too when one try to walk with the rocket on the ground.
The polish with the avatar’s appearence and scene is nice. The particles effect while using the rocket is really ok and well done. However I missed some sound effects and there should be more animations to help the player experience the expected game feels.
