The use of sound effects and music really helped set a defining tone. The use of the special skill and the act of bouncing off the walls was a nice touch. I didn’t really connect with the idea of the night elf being able to go through the wall. Maybe some polish added to that effect would help players understand what it really means (floor breaking). Some background colors would have improved the overall feel. Overall I think this is a very successful demo.

It was hard to manage at first, but I finally got to the top! The sound effects also give the two different feels as well. The controls are pretty responsive. The night elf moves quickly and the robot elf moves really slowly. Also I think the different size for each elf is also good way to show the different feels. I don’t know why you set green platforms for the night elf and gray platforms for the robot elf. It would be much better if you had some different backgrounds to emphasize the different feels. The bouncing effect for the night elf is impressive and it gives me a light feel, but it made the game a little harder.

The Night Elf can move fast and bounce around gives me a nimble feel. The Robot Elf is large and moves slowly, this give me a heavy feel.

Since this is very high quality project, I would suggest some fine tunes to make it more perfect. The color scheme of the Night Elf could be improved. The color of black background and bright green platforms don’t match. Maybe you can try some image to make the background brighter. Another problem is that the Robot Elf drops too slow compare to its heavy weight. This could bring a feeling opposite to heavy. One small issue: remember to loop play the background music.

Little touches like that can add a lot to a game. Also I think you’ve definitely achieved the feels you were going for. The night elf feels quick and light while the robot elf feels heavy and slow. I actually think the robot elf may be just a bit too heavy. It’s motion is almost painfully slow and it almost feels like the game is moving in slow motion rather than a heavy character in a normal environment. I think that by adding animations you could avoid having to make the robot elf move as slowly to achieve your feel. Also the sounds definitely help your game characters achieve their desired feel. Good job.

Especially with the night elf avatar. Being able to cancel the horizontal momentum to better control your jumps feels very good. And of course having the extra platform for the robot helps with jump precision.

The only thing that really felt odd to me was the gravity (or lack of it?). It made both characters’ jumps feel a bit floaty.

Other than that, great job!
